Hi there, friends! One of my favorite weeks of the year has arrived–my birthday week! It’s basically an excuse for me to shirk all responsibilities (as much as one can shirk when you’re an adult, anyway), at all the things, and really live life to the fullest.
We kicked off the festivities this past weekend. On Friday night, we had a delicious meal at Clydes, one of our favorite local restaurants. I ordered parmesan truffle mac and cheese as a side dish and I hate to overuse this phrase, but it was life changing.
On Saturday I got some time to myself to get my hair cut and colored. I’ve been going to the same stylist for eight years, and for six of the years it has been a 45 minute-1 hour drive to go see him. (I take my hair very seriously.) We are actually moving back to the area though, so I’m obviously very excited that my hair appointments won’t need to be planned out so carefully anymore.
Afterwards, I did a little bit of shopping, had lunch and a marg at my favorite restaurant, then stopped by our neighborhood to check out the progress on our house! I can’t believe we are just a little over our month away–fingers crossed that everything continues to go smoothly!
On Sunday, we went to church, and then I worked at the store in the afternoon. After Aida went to bed, Matt told me I could pick a movie to watch, so I obviously picked Pitch Perfect 3, which did not disappoint.
This week is going to be super busy–I wish I could relax and spend my downtime reading the Nevermoor Trials (go read it if you love Harry Potter and Neil Gaiman), but we are going to visit my parents in my hometown this coming weekend, so laundry and packing will be consuming my life. I’m still very much enjoying my birthday week, and later on today I’ll be cashing in a gift certificate I got for Christmas to treat myself to a mani/pedi.
Keep up with me on Facebook and Instagram as we start our adventures! How do you like to celebrate your birthday?
