If I was a perfect blogger, I would have this outfit idea planned and posted weeks ago. But, I’m what I like to call a “hot mess blogger,” so you’re getting these outfit ideas with a little less than one week before National Food Coma Day.
When it comes to Thanksgiving, I only have a few requirements. I want to look cute, but also wear something that will accommodate the inevitable food baby, and transitions easily into National Afternoon Nap Day. With those requirements in mind, I present to you two options for Thanksgiving Day outfits!
Let’s take a look at outfit #1…
For this look, I put together my favorite Gibson top from Nordstrom (give me all the fleece, please), plus my Wit and Wisdom jeans. If you have yet to try Wit and Wisdom, please get on it. They have this stretchy, elastic waistband that actually makes wearing jeans fun! (Okay, not fun, but definitely super comfortable.) Kendra Scott jewelry is always, always, always a good idea–you just can’t go wrong! Lastly, we can’t let an outfit pass us by in the fall without pairing some cute booties with it. I love this Vince Camuto pair I got during the Nordstrom sale. The color goes with everything, and the perforations around the side are a fun and unique detail.
Now let’s get to outfit #2!
This outfit is if you really want to go all in and skip the pants for Thanksgiving. When it comes to eating a giant meal, we all know leggings are the best things to be wearing. My favorite is this pair from Nordstrom–they’re a little thicker and they usually last me several years. However, we must not treat leggings the same way we treat pants–so a tunic layered with a long cardigan would be best for this look. And, of course, the crowning piece to going all-out-cozy for Thanksgiving would be a pair of Ugg boots. I’ll be the first to tell you that I was downright OPPOSED to Ugg boots for YEARS. Then, after a few harsh winters, I realized I was no longer judging women who wore them, but instead staring at them enviously and imagining how warm they must feel in those fur-lined boots. I broke down and bought a pair and I have zero regrets.
I will most likely be wearing look #1 for Thanksgiving, unless I wear something earlier in the week and forget to do laundry. (A very likely scenario, honestly.) I’ve linked up everything below, plus I linked some fun leopard print accessories that would also go well with these outfits, as well as the makeup products I use that keep things very simple.
Let me know what you all think! What are your Thanksgiving plans?
