Well, it is about gosh darn time I share pictures of the nursery! I filled everyone in on the inspiration a few months back, so here is the finished product!
Aida’s room is probably the most put together one in the house, and we hardly even used it those first few months. I knew that would happen, but I still wanted to take some care into getting everything ready before she arrived. Growing up with two older brothers, I know how important it is to have a cozy bedroom you can retreat to for some alone time. (Ask my brothers how many times I slammed the door screaming “I hate you!” It’s probably around ten million, and the last time it happened was for sure in the last ten years.) My mom always did such a great job decorating my room, and I want to be able to do the same for Aida.
Speaking of my mom, she did such a great job making the curtains, bedskirt, and seat cushion! She also put the finishing touches on a few things while we were in the hospital, and my dad helped her and installed the curtain rods and shelves.
Mimi and Grandad helped out with her furniture and some of the decorative accents, and friends and family filled her bookshelf with lots of books! That is probably my favorite thing about her nursery–it was a combined effort from so many people who loved her before she was even born.
I’ve also got some major closet envy. I mean, who wouldn’t?
I love how her monogram turned out. We ordered a plain one from Etsy, and my mom painted it while we were in the hospital. I really wish I had inherited more of her artistic abilities!

Overall, I’m so pleased with how everything turned out! Now, if I can just put that much effort into the other rooms of our house, I’ll be set.
