Here we are, already at five months! I can’t believe we’re making plans for a family get together for her half birthday next month, and I really can’t believe that I’m also starting to think about her first birthday party!
Since I haven’t been blogging too much, I’ll share a few highlights from her other months as well.
– Two months: We got ourselves a social life! This is when we started attending the Mommy and Me group and meeting up for playdates. She also slept through the night for the first time, and started doing it off and on.
– Three months: A whole lot more of sleeping through the night! I also had my first Mother’s Day, and quit my job to stay home with her.
– Four months: She really started interacting with us more, and that just made my heart so full. We moved her into her nursery, and sleeping through the night became the norm. This month, she was also baptized, and she took her first road trip to southwest Virginia! She rolled over for the first time, and we caught her giggling every now and then.
– Five months: We are rolling all over the place! I can see in her face that she wants to crawl, but she just doesn’t know how to get there. She just started sleeping in her crib at night–previously, she only napped in it, but it was time because she’s really getting too big for her Rock and Play. Little miss is a little water bug, and loves going to the pool and going to swim class. I also can’t get enough of the delight on her face during bathtime! I love how she is starting to recognize people and her favorite toys. She’s always got big smiles for mommy, daddy, and Millie, and her face gets the biggest smile when we give her Sophie the giraffe or her crinkly book.
We also started solid foods this month, and that has been an interesting process! More goes out than in, no shocker there, but I think she is starting to get the hang of it! We’re probably going to venture into the world of soft/pureed vegetables this week, so we’ll see how that goes. She is still a little too small for her high chair, so we are sticking to the bumbo seat now (although she will lean over to the side and try to grab anything within reach on the table–it’s pretty entertaining).
Five months in, and it just keeps getting better.
