Three years ago today, I married my soulmate and we started our first, great adventure together.
A lot can happen in three years. We got a dog, bought a house, welcomed two nieces and one nephew into the world, and now we’re expecting our next adventure to begin in February.
Even with all the big milestones, sometimes it is the little things I treasure most about our marriage. Spending the evening catching up on our tv shows. Watching Millie drag her blankie up and down the stairs. Inhaling entirely too many calories at Ford’s Fish Shack. Trying to guess who will be #1 on the weekly Alt18. Looking at each other when we get home from work, just knowing it’s going to be a Joe’s Pizza kind of night. Falling asleep with the doodle cuddled up in between us. Passing time in the driveway with the neighbors. Finding the best places to eat and eating there often. Making silly, over/under bets. Taking nice walks with the whole gang. Trying to answer one of Matt’s outrageous, hypothetical scenario questions.
There have been challenges, there have been tough times, there have been many tears (mostly on my part). This life has been perfectly imperfect, and I wouldn’t change a thing.
In honor of our anniversary, I’m adding our first dance song to the #JAMPackedHoliday playlist: Ingrid Michaelson’s cover of “Can’t Help Falling in Love.”
Happy three years, my love, here’s to many more!
