My transition to maternity clothes seemed to go very quickly. One day, I was all, “I can still wear most of my normal clothes,” then the next I was all, “give me the stretchy pants, and give them to me now!”
Fortunately, I didn’t have to buy very many clothes. My neighbor very generously let me borrow her maternity clothes, so I’ve been able to survive on those, plus a few pieces I bought on my own. When I saw this sparkly sweater at Target, I knew I had to add it to my bump style collection.
Anything with metallic threading is just begging to come home with me. I knew this sweater would be perfect for the holidays (hello, Christmas card picture!), and wasn’t too flashy that it could still be worn through winter.
I paired it with a few other great Target finds–Sam & Libby booties, and my be-band that let me wear these Vigoss jeans that are actually non-maternity. (BTW, apparently clothing/shoes/accessories are buy one, get one 50% off at Target, so let me recommend these leopard print booties as well.) And let’s not forget my Draper James tote! I can’t get enough of it–it’s really the perfect size, and doesn’t feel too heavy when I’ve thrown all my belongings in it (I think it might have magical, Hermione-type qualities). I can’t find this specific print on their website, but they do have one in a different print (and just as beautiful), that I included below. I also tried to find a similar non-maternity sweater, because let’s be honest, who doesn’t love a little bit of sparkle during the holidays?
Before I leave you, I’ve got another song for your #JAMPackedHoliday! This song never fails to put me in a good mood: “Downtown” by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis. There’s a lot going on in this song, and I love every bit of it. My favorite line is “she got 1988 Mariah Carey hair, very rare, mom jeans on her derriere,” (did I even spell that right?). I was a huge fan of their first album, and I’m a little behind on their latest but am looking forward to listening to it on Spotify.
If you want more JAMpackedholiday, my entire playlist is included below, and make sure you check out Kati Rose’s blog, the originator of this great idea, because she has superb music recommendations!
