Hi, friends! Did you miss me yesterday? Dry your tears, because I’m back! Matt and I had a lovely snow day on Tuesday with the doodle, and I worked on a few special projects for the blog, but I didn’t get aorund to putting together a post for Wednesday.
No worries though, because here I am with a special Treat Yo Self post for Thursday! Nicole asked me to do a guest post for the Treat Yo Self link-up, and I was tickled pink! Why? Because as you probably already know, I firmly believe that TREAT YO SELF isn’t just for one single moment or day–it’s a lifestyle.
My husband and I first discovered the magic of TYS in the summer of 2012; we were binge watching Parks and Rec when we first laid eyes upon Donna and Tom’s TYS episode.
We were immediately enamored with the whole idea. At that moment, we were four months out from TBD (The Big Day–can you tell I like acronyms?), and the stress of the whole planning process was driving us up the wall. So, we put wedding planning aside and dedicated an entire week to treating ourselves.
Flash forward to one year later, and I started doing TYS-related posts on an (almost) weekly basis, because that’s when I started to realize that treating yourself should never be limited to one day (or week) out of the year.
Maybe you’re thinking, “but Kate, I don’t have the time, I don’t have the money!”
KNOCK IT OFF. Those are excuses and you know it! You don’t have to be rolling in the dough to treat yo self. It’s simple, really–as you start to get overwhelmed or frustrated, take a minute to do something you really love. Draw yourself a bubble bath; make a delicious meal of crabcakes; mix up a quick mimosa; or, indulge in a little retail therapy.
